One of the most difficult topics for English learners is phrasal verbs.

Americans use them all the time in everyday speech.

You will see them in writing too.

So,what is a phrasal verb?
所以，什么是动词短语呢？
Let's go to the blackboard.
让我们来看黑板。
A phrasal verb is a group of words.
动词短语是一组单词。
These words, together, act like a verb in a sentence.
这些词组合在一起，在句子中起动词的作用。
They expressed mental and physical actions.
它们表达了心理的和身体上的行动。
Here's an example.
举个例子。
A friend recently told me about his boss.
一个朋友最近跟我说起了他的老板。
She became angry when she learned something.
当老板知道了那件事情时，她很生气。
She found out that her employees were sleeping at work.
她发现她的员工在上班时间睡觉。
My friend used a phrasal verb--find out.
我的朋友用了一个动词词组“发现”。
It combines the verb "find" with the word "out" .
它由动词“找”和单词“出来”组合而成。
Together, these words make a kind of expression that means discover.
它们一起构成了一种表达方式，意思是发现。
So, my friend could have easily said,"she discovered that her employees were sleeping while at work."
那么，我的朋友本可以简单地说“她发现她的员工在上班的时候睡觉”
There are thousands of phrasal verbs in English.
英语中有成千上万个动词短语。
I can't discuss all of them today.
今天在这我没法全部讲到。
But I will talk about them in future videos.

You can start trying to find them when you are reading.
你可以开始在阅读时把它们找出来。
Keep a list, study them, and with practice, you will be able to use them too.
列一个表，学习，练习，你也将能够学会使用动词短语。
