If one man who reads this book gets rich by doing what it tells him to do, that is evidence in support of my claim;
如果有人读了我的书之后，通过书中描述的方式成功致富，该事例就是一条能够支撑书中观点的论据:
but if every man who does what it tells him to do gets rich, that is positive proof
如果在此之后，凡是读过这本书的人都因为书中所描述的方法成功致富，那么这些现实的案例就都是证明我论点的有力证据，
until some one goes through the process and fails.
直到某一天，有人按照书中所述去做，结果失败了，这些论据才失效。
The theory is true until the process fails;
换言之，只要我推理的致富过程在现实当中成功了，我的这一理论就是正确的，除非某天该过程被证明是无效的。
and this process will not fail,
但是，我推理出来致富过程水远都不会失败。
for every man who does exactly what this book tells him to do will get rich.
任何严格按照书中理论去做的人最终必将梦想成真。
I have said that men get rich by doing things in a certain way;
我已经反复说过，人可以通过某种特殊的行为方式获取财富，
and in order to do so, men must become able to think in a certain way.
而这样做的首要前提就是，人必须能够按照这一特殊的方式进行思考。
A man's way of doing things is the direct result of the way he thinks about things.

To do things in a way you want to do them, you will have to acquire the ability to think the way you want to think;

this is the first step toward getting rich.

To think what you want to think is to think TRUTH, regardless of appearances.
按照自已所想的方式去思考是一种透过表象看本质的思考方式。
Every man has the natural and inherent power to think what he wants to think,
每个人都完全能够按照自已所想的方式去思考，这是人类与生俱来的一种能力。
but it requires far more effort to do so than it does to think the thoughts which are suggested by appearances.
不过，对我们而言，与仅仅按照事物的表象去思考相比，将这种与生俱来的能力付诸实践就要困难得多了。
To think according to appearance is easy，to think truth regardless of appearances is 1aborious，
依照事物的表象去思考并不难，困难的是透过它们的外表从其本质去思考问题，
and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work man is called upon to perform
因为其所需要的能量远远大于其他任何人类目前所能从事的工作。
There is no 1abor from which most people shrink as they do from that of sustained and consecutive thought;
绝大多数人都无法承受这一漫长且难熬的思考过程。
it is the hardest work in the world.
毋庸置疑，这是一项世界上最艰苦的工作，
This is especially true when truth is contrary to appearances.
尤其是当事物的表象与其本质相矛盾的时候，工作量之大，思考过程之艰巨可想而知。
Every appearance in the visible world tends to produce a corresponding form in the mind which observes it
世界上每一种外在表现形式，无论其是否与其本质相吻合，都会在其观察者的思想中产生一个相应的模型，
and this can only be prevented by holding the thought of the TRUTH.
而惟一能够阻止这一模型生成的方法就是坚持按照事物的本质思考。
To look upon the appearance of disease will produce the form of disease in your own mind,
当你看到疾病的种种症状时，你的脑海里便会成生一种关于疾病的模型，
and ultimately in your body,
而这一模型的概念最终将会逐渐渗透至你的每一个细胞，
unless you hold the thought of the truth, which is that there is no disease,
除非你能一直秉信本质思考法，坚定这世上本没有疾病的信念，不然，你就将沦为这一观点的俘虏。
it is only an appearance, and the reality is health.
事实上，所有疾病的症状不过是些表象，隐藏在它们后面的健康才是症结所在。
To 1ook upon the appearances of poverty will produce corresponding forms in your own mind,
当你看到贫穷的种种表现形式之后，你的脑海里也会生成一种关于贫穷的模型，
unless you hold to the truth that there is no poverty; there is only abundance.
除非你能坚持真理，坚值这世上本没有贫穷，你看到的不过是错误的表象，不然，你的思想就会被这一模型概念所占领。
To think health when surrounded by the appearances of disease, or to think riches when in the midst of appearances of povety, requires power,
要我们在被疾病的症状包围时仍然能够坚信健康，或是在一穷二白、山穷水尽之时仍然坚信财富的存在，
but he who acquires this power becomes a MASTER MIND.
这的确是需要巨大的能量才能办到的事情。
He can conquer fate, he can have whatever he wants.
但是，一旦我们获得了这一能量，我们就能够夺回思想的大权，战胜命运，得到所有自己想要的东西!
This power can only be acquired by getting hold of the basic fact which is behind all appearances,
只有抓住一切表象背后的基本事实，才能获得这种力量，
and that fact is that there is one Thinking Substance, from which and by which all things are made.
而这一事实就是，有一种思维的物质，一切事物都是由这种物质构成的。
