It's my favorite time of the day, dinner time!
And we're going to go to this restaurant where Shabu shabu was originated.
Nice to meet you, welcome!
Shabu shabu was originated here by Shoya Yoshida.
There's a Chinese cuisine called "shuan yang rou" where they dip lamb in and eat it.
For "shuan yang rou" they use this aroma head.
So Shoya wanted to use that and bring it into Japanese cuisine.
He first changed the meat from lamb to beef then changed the spicy dip to sesame
and that's how Tottori wagyu "susugi nabe" was made.
Day 2 we got up bright and early and headed to the famous Tottori Sandunes for some fun!
These Sandunes are the largest Sandunes in Japan.
And if you happen to visit here, don't just see it,
but try out the many activities that can be done here, like paragliding, sand boarding, sunrise yoga and so much more.
It's so heavy.
This is a good morning workout.
Paragliding Lesson

1st try, feeling scared
Not even in the air yet and I'm screaming.

So fun!
Pull down!
When you are in your own world and forget to listen to instructions.
Still fun though!
We all fell.
3rd try! I got this. Maybe.
It's super super fun experience.
I mean the first time I landed and I landed right on my stomach and then I got all the sand in my pants now.
But the second and third time, I got my landing right.
So a big round of applause for me.
The sun's coming out and it's getting hot.
Let's go to our next location.
Tottori is well known for their delicious pears, so we can't go home without trying out the pears.
Okay, let's go pick some pears now.
We have been growing pears for over 110 years and I'm the fourth generation.
It's easy to pick!
Smell nice.
Can't we eat the skin?
Japanese don't eat it.
It's so sweet and it's so juicy.
The skin is also delicious!
You should try it someday.
Nah, I'm good...
And if you come to Tottori, you should definitely check out the indoor sand museum.
It's so big.
It's bigger than I thought.
We change the theme of the country or region every year for exhibition.
This year it's America.
The exhibition duration is for 8.5 months every year from mid April to early January.
So from early January to mid April for 3.5 months we are closed.
During that time, we destroy all the current sculptures
and use that sand again to make new sculptures for the next exhibition.
Next we headed over to the fish market for some lunch.
Being so close to the sea, Tottori has a lot of fresh seafood you can enjoy.
The restaurant we went to lets you enjoy seafood at its freshest,
as they catch the fish right out of the tank in front of you.
This restaurant specialty is their raw squid and my local friends recommended me to try it.
So let's see how that goes.
So if you squeeze lemon and put it here, the legs will apparently come alive.
It's like it's dancing.
