商务英语 如何将普通英语转变为商务英语

Hi. My name is Rebecca from www.engvid.com. Today, you're going to learn how to speak more professionally in business situations.

大家好。我是Rebecca。今天,我们将学习在商务场合中,怎样说话才能显得更加专业。
Now, at times, it's all right to use informal language. It's acceptable in everyday situations.
有时候使用非正式语言是没有问题的。在日常生活中,非正式语言也是可以接受的。
But there are times when you'll want to create a more powerful impression. And at that time, you want to be able to use business English.
但也有些时候,你会想要给别人留下更深刻的印象。有些时候,你想使用商务英语。
What's the difference between general English and business English? Well, sometimes, there's not very much difference.
那么普通英语和商务英语到底有什么差别呢?其实,有些时候,它们之间也没多大的差别。
Sometimes, general English is used in business contexts. But sometimes, you use a higher-level word.
普通英语有时也会被用在商务环境中。但有些时候,你会使用更高级的词汇。
And that's what I'm going to teach you in this lesson. Let's look at some really easy, common examples.
这也正是我们今天所要学习的。下面我们来看一些简单常见的例子。
For example, if you say -- or if you want to say "I got your email." In regular English, you might just say, "I got your email."
比如,如果你说——或你想表达“我收到你的邮件了。”在常规英语中,你可能会说“I got your email.”
What would you say if you want to make it business English? You would say -- I'm giving you a clue,
如果你想将这句话变成商务英语,该怎么说呢?你会说——我给你们一点提示,
the word starts with R, instead of saying, "I got your email"; "I received your email." Okay? Now, it becomes more formal and more business-like.
这个单词是以“R”开头,我们可以将“I got your email”替换成“I received your email.” 现在。这句话就变得更加正式更加商业化了。
Suppose you want to tell someone, "I need your help" or "I need some help", What word could you use that starts with "R" instead of "need"?
假设你想告诉别人,“我需要你的帮助”或是“我需要帮助”,这里可以用来代替”need“的商务化单词是以“R”开头。
-- "Require". So instead of saying -- and you can also change more than the verb.
——就是“Require”。句中可以替换的不只有动词。
The verb is the key, but you could say -- instead of saying, "I need some help", you could say, "I require some assistance."
动词是关键,但是你可以不说“I need some help”,而说“I require some assistance.”
Now, you've changed two words, the verb and also a noun.
在这个句子中,替换了两个单词——一个动词以及一个名词。
Let's try another one. "Let's talk about it later." Which business word could you use?
再来看看下一个例子。“我们稍后再谈。” 在这个句子中,我们可以用到哪个商务化单词呢?
"Let's discuss -- let's discuss it later." That sounds much more professional than saying, "Let's talk about it later."
“Let's discuss——let's discuss it later。” 这样说的话就比“Let's talk about it later”显得更加专业了。
Next one. "How do I get in touch with her?" What word could you use instead of that? "How do I contact her?" Okay? Good.
下一个例子。“我怎样联系她?” 该用什么单词替换呢?“How do I contact her?” 明白了么?

如何将普通英语转变为商务英语

"Please make sure you arrive on time." Which business word could you use instead of "make sure"? -- "Please ensure you arrive on time."

“请确保您一定准时到达。”这句话,该用哪个单词替换“make sure”呢?——“Please ensure you arrive on time.”
"Please give her your travel plans." Instead of saying "give", you could say, "Please provide her with your itinerary."
“请将你的旅游计划表交给她。” 要替换掉“give”,你可以说“Please provide her with your itinerary”。
There, we've changed another word. Instead of saying "travel plan" or "travel plans", you could use the word "itinerary".
在这个句子中,我们还替换了另一个单词。我们将“travel plan”或者“travel plans”替换成了“itinerary”。
An "itinerary" is usually a piece of paper or a document that lists your travel plans, when you're departing, when you're arriving, where, when, and so on.
“Itinerary”通常是指一张纸或是文档,上边列出了你的旅游计划、你何时离开、何时到达、时间、地点等等。
"Please let them know when you will be arriving." "Please let them know" -- instead of that, you could say, "Please inform them of your arrival." Okay? Good.
“当你到的时候,请告诉他们。” 我们可以将“Please let them know”替换成“Please inform them of your arrival”,明白了么?
"Please tell me why you've made this decision." "Please explain your decision."
“请告诉我你为何作出这种决定。” 可以替换成“Please explain your decision”。
"Could you please talk some more about that subject?" -- "Could you please elaborate? Could you please elaborate on that?"
“关于那个主题,你可以再多讲讲么?” 替换成——“Could you please elaborate? Could you please elaborate on that?”
Now, this is actually a very useful word if you go to a conference or a meeting and you want someone to speak some more about a particular point or issue.
事实上,如果你去参加一个会议并想请某人对于某一点或某个问题多作解释话,这个单词就非常实用。
It's a good, kind of, question to learn. "Could you please elaborate on that?" So "to elaborate" means to speak more or talk more, give more information.
这会是一个好的提问。“你可以就这一点详细说明一下么?” 因此,“to elaborate”是指说更多、谈论更多、给出更多信息。
"How are you going to fix this problem?" Better than using the word "fix" is the word "solve".
“你要怎么解决这个问题?” 最好将“fix”换成“solve”。
"How are you going to solve this problem?" All right?
“How are you going to solve this problem?” 明白了么?
So try to do that for every simple word that you know and basic word that you know in general English,
尝试替换一些你知道的简单单词以及普通英语单词,
try to find a slightly more formal version, which will be your business English word. And use these words in an office environment.
尝试使用稍微更加正式的单词,这将成为你的商务英语单词。并在办公室中使用这些单词。
