During an Arizona summer air conditioner repairmen are in high demand. Maricopa County health officials say that most heat-related deaths are due to people with non-functioning air conditioners. As temperatures reached 120 degrees, the Associated Press spent a Monday with repairman Alan Schwandt to see what a day in his life is like.
Schwandt knew his day was bound to be busy and as he toiled away in the heat driving across the county from one repair job to the next, he said, "It's always hot but you have a job and have to do your job no matter what it is."
