Russian investigators arrived in Turkey to inspect the scene of their ambassador’s murder by a Turkish police officer. Both countries vowed that the assassination would not disrupt their ties. Police have detained a number of people, mostly the suspect's family. In Istanbul, the authorities went ahead with the opening of a new road tunnel under the Bosphorus strait.
