I think we're more focused these days on the supporting healthy terraine

what we call the terraine or the environment in which our cells grow

And nutrition is one of the things that can help keep that terraine supportive of health

and not permissive or encouraging of cancer growth

So in Servan-Schreiber's book
在Servan-Schreiber的书中
he talks about the things that we can do and you probably know a lot about these things

One of them is the importance of regular physical activity and though this is the nutrition talk
其中一点就是保持日常锻炼,虽然演讲是讲营养的
I'd like to emphasize really the two things together
但我要强调,锻炼和饮食缺一不可
And it's really important to get enough exercise to keep your muscle mass
只有通过足够的运动才能锻炼肌肉
protect your muscle mass so it doesn't turn into fat mass
不让肌肉被大量脂肪所代替
For one thing, when we let our muscles atrophy and we get more fat in our body
如果体内肌肉萎缩,脂肪增加
we produce more cytokines which are pro-inflammatory and those seem to make the terraine more permissive

So getting some exercise on a regular basis is important
所以说,日常锻炼非常重要
But the thing I'm gonna really emphasize in this short time that we have together are the dietary factors that we think are protective

So just quickly though before I get into that, I'd like to encourage people

and you probably heard about this in the last presentation the importance of breathing

So getting enough exercise what we call exercising the huffy puffy or getting a little bit breathless is very helpful

not only in controlling muscle mass but it's also helpful in getting rid of or helping the body get rid of toxins

And again, as we controlled fat mass, we help to reduce pro-inflammatory cytokine production
