They orchestrate the immune system

Inflammation has been predictive epidemiologically in laboratory base studies towards disease outcomes

But getting back to how it's related to obesity as I mentioned

You get this macrophage migration

And this is one of the key sources of inflammatory cytokines

So as the adipose grows

More cells migrate into this area

Leading to crosstalk between macrophages and adipocytes

Adipocytes begin to release pro-inflammatory cytokines
