Look at these sentences

To make them more interesting

We add describing words, adjectives

Remember that adjectives describe a noun or a pronoun
记住形容词用来形容一个名词或者代词
Anna watched her large green ball bounce across the wide gravel road
安娜看到她又大又绿的球跳过了宽阔的碎石路
There were hats on the shelf
书架上有帽子
They were black, pointy hats
帽子是黑色的,尖尖的
The kind a witch would wear

The adjectives give us more information about the nouns and pronouns

And so make the sentences more interesting

We can form adjectives from other word
我们还可以让其它类型的词变成形容词形式
By adding a suffix to the end
只需添加词尾后缀
For example, the nouns “power” and “value”

Become “powerful” and “valuable”
变成 powerful 和 valuable
Many adjectives of feeling have two forms

Ending with “ed” and “ing”
