First, we will learn about the present perfect

We can use "for" to show a period of time

in the present perfect, we use "for" to show a period of time
在现在完成时中，我们使用for
which began in the past and continues to the present
表示从过去持续到现在的时间
I've been going to that movie theatre for over ten years
十多年来我一直去那家电影院
In the past simple
在一般过去时中
We use "for" to refer to a finished period of time in the past
我们用for来表示过去一段完成的时期
She was a student for a few years before she travelled the world
在周游世界之前的几年中，她曾是一名学生
Remember that for regular verbs
记住，对于规则动词
the past ending is formed by adding "ed"
过去式的结尾要添加ed
Anna has worked at the office for many years
安娜在办公室工作了多年
For irregular verbs, the endings must be learned for each word
对于不规则动词，需要掌握每个词的词尾
Irregular birds did not have "ed" added to the end
不规则动词不以ed结尾
To form a negative of "have" and "has", we add "not"
为了表达have和has的否定形式，我们加上not
have not, has not

we can also shorten the words

I haven't seen the movies for ages

Anna hasn't been to the park for a long time

When asking questions, we put "have" and "has" before the pronoun
