Rain-triggered landslides and floods in south-west China's Sichuan Province have left eight people dead and 11 others missing.
Downpours battered Shimian County in the city of Yaan Thursday evening. Landslide and floods resulted in the suspension of traffic on several highways, the city's publicity office said.
At least 4 villages have been heavily affected. Around 1,700 emergency staff are working on the sites to rescue people and repair the roads. More than 4,700 residents have been relocated, as more natural disasters may occur.
