The Reason of Being Late 迟到的原因

1.the rason of

the reason of 表示.....的原因。

辨析the reason和the reason for

the reason for 常用固定搭配，后面可加动名词、名词或代词。

例如：I can see no reason for his behaviour.

或 Do you know the reason for his absence?

如果用reason of 那通常只用在by reason of这个短语中，这是个很正式的说法，意思是由于……。

例如：He was found not guilty by reason of insanity.他因为精神失常而被判定无罪。

2.every

看到every这个单词，跟大家讲一个最简单但是又最容易混淆的东西：

everyday 形容词：每天的, 日常的, 平常的, 平凡的

例：a suit for everyday wear.

适合平日里穿的衣服

every day 通常做“每天”解作状语时，省掉介词（in),表示频率。

I go to school every day.我每天上学

He exercises every day. 他每天锻炼

3.corner

corner本身是角落的意思。

有一个固定搭配around the corner

around the corner：迫在眉睫的，即将到来的。

eg：We spied a stranger hanging around the corner.
