1. President Bush says the sacrifices of American troops have laid the foundation for peace for generations to come. His statements come as the death toll in Iraq hit 4000. The President made his comments at the State Department after a two-hour long briefing on the war.
2. Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick says he is looking forward to complete exoneration. Kilpatrick was charged with perjury and other counts for allegedly lying under oath. That’s after he denied he and a former aide had an affair.
3. The Justice Department has approved Sirius Satellite Radio's proposed $5 billion buyout of rival XM Satellite Radio Holdings. The department says the deal was unlikely to hurt competition or consumers.
4. The first of the two so-called "Barbie Bandits" has been sentenced to ten years in prison for her role in a bank robbery. Ashley Miller will only have to serve two years of the sentence and will complete the rest on probation. The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to theft and drug charges.
