1. A change at the top in New York. Lieutenant Governor David Paterson is taking over for disgraced Governor Eliot Spitzer. In a press conference, Paterson said if legislators can pass the budget on time, the state will be back on track.
2. A teenager charged with killing a student leader at the University of North Carolina is now charged with killing a graduate student at Duke University. It's not clear if the two cases are connected, although robbery was involved in both cases.
3. Chrysler is telling its workers to take a vacation, a mandatory two weeks in July. The automaker says the shutdown will boost productivity and efficiency.
4. American Idol meet Afghan Star and to be this woman, one of the finalists, a first in the post-Taliban Afghanistan. Under that regime, women were not allowed outside of their homes alone with music and television banned. The winner takes home around five thousand dollars, a small fortune here.
