1. Eight people are dead and at least five others are injured, after police say a car plowed into a crowd of people watching illegal street racing in Maryland. Police say the crime scene spread across 200 yards as bodies lay in and near the road.
2. The Associated Press was given access to the hotel room occupied by the man who went on a shooting spree at Northern Illinois University. The owner says police seized Steven Kazmertcheck's laptop computer but left behind his empty wallet, clothes and more.
3. President Bush has arrived in Tanzania, the second leg of his five-nation tour of Africa. He's urging Congress to continue what he calls important foreign financial aid.
4. Kosovo is expected to declare its independence from Serbia Sunday. The European Union will send 1,800 police and other officials to help keep the peace and secure the future for the newly independent country.
