1. A 23-year-old woman shot and killed two other women at a vocational college classroom and then killed herself. All three were students at Louisiana Technical College. Her motive is not clear.
2. Fire fighters recovered three bodies from the wreckage of a still burning sugar refinery in Georgia. And authorities expect to find three more bodies. Others were injured, some seriously burned. Sugar dust is suspected as a cause.

4. Conservation groups want the polar bear on the list of endangered species as nearly 46,000 square miles in Alaska are open to oil and gas leases. The World Wildlife Fund says the polar bear is not receiving enough protection.
