1. President Bush says the latest unemployment numbers are a serious sign the economy is in trouble and another reason Congress needs to pass his economic stimulus plan. The figures released this morning show that for the first time in over four years, the country actually lost jobs from one month to the next.
2. Microsoft is making a bid to buy Yahoo. The company is offering nearly 45 billion dollars in an unsolicited bid to buy the Internet giant.
3. Officials in Iraq say the two women at the center of today's deadly bomb attack in Baghdad may have been unwilling participants. They say the women were mentally retarded, and the bombs were strapped to them, and were being controlled remotely. More than 70 people were killed.
4. Heavy, wet snow is making life tougher for people from Texas to the Great Lakes. It fell at a rate of more than an inch an hour today in Chicago and tied up traffic for hours. It's also forcing airlines to cancel hundreds of flights out of O'Hare.
