2.A court appearance for Chester Stiles accused of abusing a three-year-old girl an act caught on videotape. During the brief hearing, Stiles only said he can not afford a lawyer. His public defender says he expects Stiles to fight the more than 20 felony charges against him.
3.A murder trial in Atlanta is halted because of money woes. Brian Nichols is charged with escaping from custody at a downtown Atlanta courthouse and killing a judge along with three other people. The cost to defend Nichols has not left enough money for other cases.
4.At this North Carolina fastfood restaurant, the manager takes on a robber, grabbing his gun, wrestling with him in the kitchen. All caught on surveillance tape. Eventually, the fight goes outside and the gunman escapes.
