A man who kidnapped a 14-year-old girl and raped her for a week is sentenced to 421 years in prison. The girl was held at a bunker until being rescued after sending a text message for help.

Former CBS news anchor Dan Rather is suing his old network for 70 million dollars along with former parent company Viacom and three of his former bosses. Rather says the complaint stems from the mishandling of a discredited story about President Bush's time in the National Guard.

These monks are staying silent while on the march. In Myanmar about 500 Buddhist monks took to the streets in driving rain, protesting hardship brought on by the government's economic policies. Monks here have traditionally headed a protest starting with British colonialism and later military dictatorship.
