1. The prosecutor in the failed Duke lacrosse rape case says he plans to resign his post. Mike Nifong made the announcement today as he finished testifying in an ethics hearing examining how he handled the case.

2. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has made a surprised visit to Iraq. He says the situation in Iraq is a very mixed picture, but he also voiced the support for the top of the US commanding.

3. Palestinians in the West Bank say they are worried now the Hamas has taken control of Gaza. They say they fear the deadly violence there could spill over. However at the same time, they say this could prompt western governments to offer them more aid to keep the militant group at bay.

4. It's not everyday you get to see a relic of an automobile pulled out of the ground. Officials in Tulsa, Oklahoma, unearth a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere this afternoon. That was buried as part of a time capsule 50 years ago.
