1. Rev. Jerry Falwell has died. He was found unconscious in his office at Liberty University in Virginia. The television evangelist became the face of the religious right in the 1980s. He also founded Liberty and served as its president. Jerry Falwell was 73.

2. Army officials in Iraq say the four U.S. soldiers killed in a weekend ambush and the three who remain missing were from the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum in New York. The Pentagon says terrorists may have the missing soldiers.

3. Police in Portugal investigating the disappearance of a British girl have released a suspect they had questioned. Officials say there wasn't enough evidence to file charges. The 4-year-old disappeared from her hotel. Some notable celebrities are appealing for help in finding the girl.

4. A bear and her cub are recovering after being rescued from Florida wildfires. Veterinarians at the University of Florida treated burns on the bear's paws. Her cub was rehydrated and is doing fine. The mother and cub could eventually be returned to the wild.
